Markit: Russia’s Manufacturing PMI rises to 51.9 in September
MOSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) grew to 51.9 in September from 51.6 in August, research organization Markit said in a statement on Monday.
The index was above the 50 mark, which means that the manufacturing sector saw an overall expansion in September.
“Sustained expansions in output and new orders were key drivers behind the return of job creation. Meanwhile, new export orders increased for the first time since August 2013,” Sian Jones, an economist at Markit, said.
He also said that the inflation pressure on the sector and producers’ costs increased in September but the confidence of market participants grew to a 28-month high.
